Scott Dixon’s Podium Leads Team Target at The Glen as Ganassi Drivers Swap Points Lead

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (July 5, 2009) - Team Target driver and three-time Watkins Glen International winner Scott Dixon started and finished third in the 60-lap event in upstate New York, while teammate Dario Franchitti came home 15th after starting fifth in the No.10 Polaroid car. With the results, the Target Chip Ganassi Racing duo swapped the IndyCar Series points lead with Dixon now ahead of Franchitti as the series heads north to the streets of Toronto. Both drivers started the day on Firestone’s higher-gripping “alternate” tires and had used them up by their first round of pit stops by lap 21. Drivers excited about Kentucky races

There are at least two drivers who will be looking to turn their fortunes around July 18 at Kentucky Speedway. That’s when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will pair up with the ARCA RE/MAX Series for a pair of races at the Sparta, Ky., racetrack. Nine-time ARCA Series champion Frank Kimmel, of Clarksville, Ind., and Truck Series contender Rick Crawford, of Mobile, Ala., were on hand Wednesday, July 1, at the Montgomery Inn Boathouse in Cincinnati to preview the upcoming races.
