STATESVILLE, N.C — No. 43 Air Force Dodge driver Reed Sorenson visits Pocono International Raceway this weekend with the momentum gained from a 13th-place finish at Indianapolis on Sunday.

The 23-year-old Peachtree City, Ga. native has shown tremendous improvement since joining Richard Petty Motorsports. A comparison of points after the first 20 races in 2008 and 2009 show that Sorenson has scored 275 more points this season.

Sorenson Quotes

POCONO— “We are really happy how we have raced over the last couple of weeks. A 13th at Indy, we had top 10 cars at Chicago and Daytona before we had problems. We have the hard part down. At Indy we were able to finish and I expect the same at Pocono this weekend as well. It’s a flat track and I think we will have something for them this weekend.”

IMPROVEMENT 2008 TO 2009- “Yes, I feel it. I’m still learning and I think I am getting better each week. People underestimate how hard it is to do well in NASCAR. We are gaining on it each weekend. Hopefully those numbers keep getting better. I think all of us at the Petty team are getting better and better.”
