Carl Edwards – NSCS KANSAS ADVANCE

Team: No. 99 Aflac Ford Fusion
Crew Chief: Bob Osborne
Chassis: RK-639 Last outing: Michigan – June 2009, finished fourth
Also: raced the All Star at Lowe’s in May 2009; finished fifth

Carl Edwards on racing at Kansas Speedway:

“I hope we can be as strong as we were at Kansas Speedway last year. That was one of the most exciting races that I’ve ever been a part of. To me winning the Cup race at Kansas would be the number one memory. Winning there would mean more to me than winning any other race. We’re going to go there and give it one hundred percent. I’m real excited about what Sprint is doing with the Victory Junction Camp. I really hope I beat Clint (Bowyer) so that I can be the one that presents the $100,000 check to the Victory Junction Camp. That’s going be a good little battle. Clint’s a great guy. I can’t thank Sprint enough for including me in this border war, the Sprint Stateline Challenge Promotion, to donate money to the Victory Junction Camp. That’s cool.”

Crew chief Bob Osborne on racing at Kansas Speedway:

“I know how much it would mean to Carl to win at Kansas and we’re doing everything we can to help him accomplish that goal. He considers Kansas his home track and will have a lot of family and friends there supporting him. We’re taking the same car that finished fourth at MIS in June so we know it’s a pretty good car. We’ve been spending a lot of time at the shop working on ways to make our cars better since we’ve only got eight races left for a shot at the championship. A win at Kansas would be huge for all of us.”
