Martin Truex Jr. and No. 1 Rain-X® Team

Phoenix History: Truex will be making his eighth NSCS start at the one-mile oval in the desert. Truex has an average starting position of 14.1 and an average finish of 17.0 at Phoenix International Raceway. Truex has three Top-10 and four Top-15 finishes at the track located just west of downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Truex’s best finish came in the fall of 2007 when he started on the second and finished seventh. Truex recently matched his all-time finish at Phoenix in April of 2009. The driver started his day in the 26th position and brought his No. 1 Chevrolet home in seventh position. The finished marked his second top-10 for the 2009 NSCS season.

About Texas: Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops / Tracker Boats team returned to Texas Motor Speedway looking for a successful run as they continued to wind down their 2009 campaign. The team worked hard in the three practice sessions and qualifying session leading up to race day and expected to be, at the very least, a Top-15 finisher for the final 500-mile event of the 2009 season. They did just that by bringing home the team’s sixth top-15 finish for the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.

Rain-X Returns: Rain-X® will make their second appearance as the primary sponsor for the No. 1 Chevrolet of Martin Truex Jr. at this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). Rain-X® made it’s NASCAR debut as the primary sponsor for Truex and the No. 1 team for the NSCS race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 20 For more than 30 years, the legendary Rain-X® Original Glass Treatment has been dramatically improving wet weather driving visibility by causing precipitation to bead up and roll off vehicle windshields. The No. 1 Chevrolet Impala SS’s bright yellow and blue design draws inspiration from the yellow and blue color scheme that has become synonymous with the Rain-X® brand. Race fans should be sure to look for the Rain-X® logo on the hood of the No. 1 Chevy along with the giant “beaded” rain drops running off the windshield and down the sides of the front quarter-panels of the No. 1 Chevrolet Impala SS.

Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew: Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates and Starbucks Coffee Company will provide NASCAR fans attending this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) event at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) a taste of Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew, Starbucks latest coffee innovation, through an extensive trackside sampling effort.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 13, the thousands of NASCAR fans in attendance at PIR should be on the lookout for a fleet of Starbucks branded golf carts combing the race-track property passing samples of Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew. Starbucks ambassadors will be ready to introduce race fans to an instant coffee that is full bodied and flavorful, just like the Starbucks® coffee they have already come to know and love. As part of the promotion, both the Starbucks and Starbucks VIA™ Ready Brew logos will have associate sponsor placement on the TV Panel of the No. 1 Chevrolet driven by Martin Truex Jr.

Bass Pro Shopping: Outdoor enthusiasts in the Phoenix area can get all their hunting, fishing and camping supplies at the Bass Pro Shops at 1133 N. Dobson in Mesa, Arizona. The store is approximately 45 miles from Phoenix International Raceway, and can be reached at 602-606-5600.

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup: An accident on lap 174 at Texas Motor Speedway resulted in a 37th-place finish for the Target team. Montoya took a hit in the Chase point standings and fell two spots to sixth. He is 236 points out of first and only 58 behind fifth with two races remaining.

The Chase Stats: Eight races into the 10-race Chase, Montoya is tied with Johnson for the most top-five finishes with five, has the third highest average running position of 10.015, second highest percentage of the fastest laps run during a race with 9.4, and the second highest driver rating at 106.6 in comparison to the other Chase drivers.

Phoenix History: Juan Pablo Montoya will be making his sixth NSCS start at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend. This marks the ninth race of the Chase. Montoya has an average starting position of 22.2 and an average finishing position of 21.4. He has completed 99.7% of the laps run at the one-mile track. His best finish at Phoenix came in the spring 2008 race where he finished 16th.

About Texas: The Target team was looking to continue their climb in the point standings last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. When it came to race time Sunday afternoon, Montoya was confident that their favorite chassis would assist them in doing just that. The No. 42 Target / Dream In Color Chevrolet was running ninth when the car broke loose and changed the outcome of the race in an instant. Montoya was forced back to the garage where the team repaired significant damage to the rear and right front fender of the car. They were able to get back out on track and salvage a 37th-place finish.

BeLive 2009: Formula Smiles, a foundation created by Juan Pablo Montoya and wife Connie Freydell, will be one of the organizations represented in the third annual BeLive gala next week in Miami. BeLive was created to help bring international awareness to Colombia’s social needs, create alliances between different foundations and organizations that work towards Colombia and raise funds to create, promote and expand the social work that these organizations do. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, November 19th at 7:00 pm (EDT) in Miami. For more information please visit www.belivecolombia.org

Get Geared Up!: Fans should be sure to visit www.earnhardtganassi.com to get their Exclusive and Official 2009 Juan Pablo Montoya Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup gear. Fans that spend $42 will receive free shipping. Sprint Cup gear is also available trackside for Juan Pablo Montoya. Please visit an Americrown Event Merchandise kiosk or a Chevrolet Merchandise trailer for your items.

2009 In Numbers: Montoya and the Target team have accumulated two pole awards, seven top fives, 17 top-10 (50%) and 21 top-15 finishes this season. In the 34 Cup races run this season Montoya has earned 26 top-20 finishes. He has led 388 laps and averages a starting position of 12.3 and a finishing position of 13.7 for the season. They have completed 9789 of out 9913 possible laps (98.7%) this season which ranks sixth for active drivers and have no DNF’s (did not finish).
