Michigan International Speedway
BROOKLYN, Mich. (Dec. 18, 2009) — Fan appreciation is about the fans, so those closest to the program will vote on its logo.

Race fans will choose the logo for Michigan International Speedway’s Fan Appreciation Program presented by LifeLock. The five choices for the logo are online at www.MISpeedway.com/fanappreciationvote.

The contest will run through January 29. The logo that receives the most fan votes will be announced in early February.

Fans who select the winning logo will automatically be entered into a contest to win two tickets to the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards Racing for Wildlife 200/Gatorade Pole Day, which will be held at MIS on June 11, 2010. The winner will also have the opportunity to wave the green flag for a qualifying lap on that day.

“We felt that this was the best way for us to select the logo for the Fan Appreciation Program presented by LifeLock,” MIS President Roger Curtis said. “The fans are what this program is all about, so it’s great that they can pick the logo. We sincerely appreciate everything our fans do for us here and want them to be involved in this process.”

The Fan Appreciation Program started last summer with much fanfare. The program gave away experiential prizes during the June and August race weekends last season including waving the green flag during qualifying laps and giving the command to start engines as the grand marshal for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race. MIS plans to continue the program in 2010 with race tickets, pit passes, seat upgrades, pace car rides and exclusive access to driver introductions, among other amazing prizes.

“This program is really exciting for us because it gives fans so many memorable experiences during race weekends and other times of the year,” Curtis said.

Recently, the Fan Appreciation Program gave away a trip to Thomas Schultz, a longtime MIS fan, to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas. Schultz was randomly selected among fans that renewed their tickets or camping for the 2010 season or submitted an entry on a 3×5 card.

“Mr. Curtis and MIS went way out of their way for us. We couldn’t have been treated any better and as race fans it was truly the experience of a lifetime,” Schultz said. “I can’t thank everyone enough for their hospitality while we were in Las Vegas.”

The Fan Appreciation Program will be sponsored by LifeLock in 2010. LifeLock, who has sponsored NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at MIS since 2008, is excited about partnering with the Irish Hills track with this program.

“We’re excited to sponsor MIS’ Fan Appreciation Program in 2010,” LifeLock Director of Partnership Marketing, Wendy Metcalf said. “We’ve had a great relationship with MIS over the past few years and are thrilled to sponsor this program, which is truly all about the race fans. We couldn’t be happier to put our name on a program that cares so much about them.”

Nestled in the lush Irish Hills of Southeastern Michigan, Michigan International Speedway is the Great Escape, a venerable NASCAR national park where fans can get away and enjoy the very best in racing and camaraderie. It’s the love of racing and the thrill of a great time for race fans and drivers alike.

Race fans who missed out on renewing tickets can leave a $30 goodwill deposit and ensure the best, guaranteed lowest prices in 2010. Deposits will be accepted through Jan. 5 only. After that, ticket prices will likely increase as demand goes up.

Customers can log onto www.MISpeedway.com or call 800-354-1010 to leave a deposit.
