Ron Cox will slide through the window of the #23 Hixson Motorsports Chevrolet for the first time in three and half years for the April 5th running of the ARCA RE/MAX Series Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway. While Cox has continued to race on a part time basis for the last five years, he has not raced the #23 since August of 2005.

For Cox, the upcoming race at Salem is like a homecoming, considering the #23 is the car he drove for 126 of his 135 ARCA RE/MAX Series Starts, including his 1999 Rookie of the Year campaign.

“I am looking forward to going to Salem,” Cox said Friday from underneath a race car. “Last year in this race we had a good car, and ran well during the race, running in the top 10 before the transmission broke. We tested Salem a couple weeks ago and overall I was happy with the test. We had two cars there to shake down for the race, and I was happier with the backup car than the primary car, so we switched them.”
