Stock car racing returns to South Jersey with the second edition of the ARCA RE/MAX Series and the Loud Energy Drink 150. Last year marked the first time ARCA ran a road course since 2001, but that didn’t stop Justin Allgaier from capturing the checkered flag. Allgaier went on to win the overall points championship and is now racing full time for Penske Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Other ARCA drivers from last year’s race made the jump to higher levels. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is now driving in the Nationwide Series for Roush Fenway Racing. Scott Speed is driving for Eddie Sharp Racing in the Sprint Cup series.

This year’s race promises to be even more exciting with a little road course experience under many of the drivers’ belts. Those drivers will include nine-time series champion Frank Kimmel, Tim George Jr., Patrick Sheltra and Cherry Hill native Tom Hessert III.

Also running on this weekend will be the Volkswagen TDI Cup, the Pro IT sports car series, and a World Karting Association race on the karting track.
