Frank Kimmel seeking more Salem magic

If you’re Frank Kimmel approaching a race at Salem Speedway, you feel two emotions that ordinarily couldn’t live together.

Comfort.

And stress.

Kimmel, the all-time ARCA RE/MAX Series race winner at Salem, and Ken Schrader top the list of entries for Sunday’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at the Southern Indiana track.

Kimmel has won nine ARCA races at Salem, including last September’s Eddie Gilstrap Motors ARCA 200, when he led 62 laps.

“It’s actually both comforting and stressful to get back to a track where we’ve had so much success,” said Kimmel, of Borden, Ind. “Comforting because we really enjoy racing in front of our family and local supporters at what we consider our home track, but it’s also stressful because there’s a certain amount of self-induced pressure we put on ourselves to run up front and contend for wins every time we go to Salem.”
