Alabama driver tries to break into ARCA
Caught in the Catchfence™Grant Enfinger knows that.time is short in his racing career.
The Fairhope native has already reached the ripe old age of 24 in a sport where youngphenoms become veterans before they’re old enough to buy beer.
So Enfinger is hoping to make the most of a few, very limited races in the ARCA ReMax Series this season and hopefully do well enough to get noticed and maybe land a ride somewhere.
He has only four races to make that impression and a shoestring budget to do it on so he can’t afford to play it conservatively on the track trying not to tear up his equipment.
“In the race I’m all out. And sometimes it burns us,” he said Wednesday at Talladega Superspeedway on the first day of a two-day ARCA test session. “I’m 24 and somebody has to take notice sooner rather than later.”
