Fort Frances native Steve Arpin continues to make headway on the ARCA Re/MAX circuit, finishing 11th during Friday’s race at the famed Talladega Superspeedway.

Arpin struggled in qualifying to start 18th, but was able to avoid trouble and work his way up near the top 10 in a race where more than a dozen drivers were forced out before crossing the finish line.

Arpin’s teammate, Justin Lofton, took the checkered flag just ahead of veteran 59-year-old Bill Baird.

Lofton is just five points behind Parker Kilgerman for the ARCA points lead with 810, with Arpin currently sitting in ninth (600).

The next ARCA race is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at the Kentucky ARCA 150 in Sparta, Ky.
