Frank Kimmel, No. 44 Ansell / Menards Ford Fourth Fast at Kentucky Test
Press Release“There are just a lot of quality teams in the ARCA RE/MAX Series this year and they’re all fielding quality cars week in and week out,” said Kimmel. “If you want to have a shot at a win, you have to be 100% prepared before even arriving at the racetrack.
“Yesterday’s test in particular was important for us because so many of the tracks that we run at are similar to Kentucky Speedway. The chassis and spring set ups that we worked on yesterday will apply to quite a few other tracks, so it could be an important part of our future success this season.”
Kimmel, a four-time Kentucky winner, has not won at the track since May, 2005, but feels good about his chances to return to the winner’s circle after enjoying such a productive day of testing.“I think that what we were able to pick up yesterday means we’ll return really competitive and most likely challenging for the win,” said Kimmel. “We still need to pick up some speed but overall I feel really good about our package heading into Kentucky.”
The Drive Smart Buckle-Up Kentucky 150 will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern on Saturday, May 9. Practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell will precede the race on Saturday afternoon.
