NASCAR’s Cup Series has had only one female driver during Johanna Long’s lifetime. But the 17-year-old Pensacola girl isn’t concerned about crashing against stock-car racing’s glass ceiling. Instead, she plans to race along an asphalt track to her dream.

Already a record-setter at Mobile International Speedway and a track champion at Pensacola’s Five Flags Speedway, Long is scheduled to make her ARCA RE/MAX Series debut on Saturday night in the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway.

“It’s just a big step for me and, hopefully, it will go well,” Long said. “Hopefully, I’ll go far in racing. Hopefully, I’ll get to Cup. It’s a big dream, I know.”
