ARCA RE/MAX Series driver Patrick Sheltra’s car will feature a decal reading, “In memory of Matt Hawkins,” during Saturday’s race.

Hawkins, who won last year’s Prairie Meadows race at Newton, died in February after a gun accidentally discharged.

“He was a great competitor,” Sheltra said. “We miss seeing his face around the track.”
