Kory Rabenold is Ready to Tackle the ‘Tricky Triangle’
Press Release
Advertisment

Kory Rabenold will be making his 4th start of 2009 this weekend in the Pennsylvania ARCA 200 for Andy Belmont, in the Andy Belmont Racing, Ford Fusion #14. For Kory, this is a homecoming of sorts. Kory made his first career start back in 2007 and finished a solid 12th place in his family owned, Buzzy’s Auto Body Chevrolet. Over the next two years, Kory’s finishes weren’t where he wanted them to be. In the August race of 07, Kory was caught up in the mess that sidelined Bobby Gerhart for the remainder of the season, then in 2008, another unfortunate mishap, ended his June race early, and then the August race was not much better when the engine expired on lap 40.

This year, Kory and the KRR team were unable to make the trip to Long Pond, PA to compete in the June event, due to the lack of sponsorship dollars. So, Kory was forced to watch from the sidelines as he continued to scramble looking for a marketing partner. Kory didn’t sit idle however; he was still competing on a weekly basis in the Asphalt Modified ranks at Mahoning Valley Speedway, for Terry Zacharias Motorsports based out of Candor, NY. In 8 starts, Kory had logged one feature win and 5 top 5’s. That weekly competition helped keep Kory sharp and kept Kory prepared if a call came in to race in the ARCA series. Then, in early July, the call did come in, Andy Belmont needed a driver to field the #14 entry and Kory rose to the occasion. The Lack sponsorship dollars is still keeping Kory from showing everyone what he is really capable of, but he is logging seat time and bringing the car home in one piece.

This weekend, Kory will be making his 5th career start at Pocono Raceway, and hopes are high for a strong qualifying attempt and even stronger finish at lap 80 of the event. This year will be a bit different however, Kory won’t be in his family owned Chevy, he will be in the Andy Belmont Racing, Ford Fusion and ARCA has now mandated a no shift rule. With Pocono being Kory’s ‘home’ track, familiar faces will surround him. His father, Ken ‘Buzzy’ Rabenold will be on pit road and in the garage area as well of many of Kory’s crew guys, are helping in his homecoming by fueling the car and changing tires on race day. In addition, Kory will have his contingent of fans in the stands, headed up by his mother Pat, sister Steph and girlfriend, Skye. With Mahoning Valley Speedway being down the road, many fans will make the trip to Long Pond, PA to cheer Kory on.

The Pennsylvania ARCA 200, will be televised, live on the Speed Channel, and the race is scheduled to roll off the grid at 1pm, Saturday 8/1. It’s not too late to become a Kory Rabenold Racing Marketing Partner. We would be happy to have a conversation with anyone who would like to have their company name and logo on the hood or quarter panels of his ride for Pocono. Go to www.rabenoldracing.com for contact details. Give us a call we would be happy to discuss the details.
