“Early Incident Ends the Race Early for the LoanMax Team”

LONG POND, PA (AUGUST 3, 2009) – - After a rainy and wet weekend at Pocono Raceway, Brett Butler ended the race early with only nine laps in. Since qualifying was cancelled on Friday, the ARCA RE/MAX series lined up the starting grid for the Pennsylvania ARCA 200 based on car owner points standing. Butler would start the No. 1 LoanMax Ford in 23rd.

The rain cleared up on Saturday long enough for the Pennsylvania ARCA 200 to get under way and completed under a green, white, checkered finish.

Just nine laps into the Pennsylvania ARCA 200 at Pocono Raceway, Butler was just getting acquainted with the track when he became involved in a crash that he could not avoid. This incident put him out for the remainder of the race leaving Butler to watch from the infield.

“This was just a real disappointing day for us and the LoanMax team,” said Brett. “I really think we could have run well here. It is just unfortunate for something like this to have happened, especially so early in the race. I was really looking forward to getting some track time here at Pocono.”

Brett Butler and the No. 1 LoanMax car did get an abundance of exposure live on SPEED due to the early incident.

“I won’t be returning to the ARCA series until October,” said Butler. “My brother, KBIII will be behind the wheel of the No. 1 LoanMax Ford for the next couple of races. However, I will be returning to the USAR Pro Cup series and finishing out that season. We are looking forward to finishing in the top ten in points for the Pro Cup series. I definitely can’t wait to get back in the No.1 LoanMax Ford for the ARCA RE/MAX Series though.”

After an early finish for Butler, the No. 1 Loan Max Ford finished in 38th for the Pennsylvania ARCA 200.

Next stop for Brett Butler will be in the USAR Pro Cup series at South Boston Speedway for the South Boston 250 on Saturday, August 8th at 7:00 PM EST in South Boston, VA. As for the ARCA RE/MAX Series, the LoanMax Ford will return to racing with Ken Butler, III behind the wheel on Sunday, August 23rd at the Illinois State Fairgrounds for the Allen Crowe 100.
