Danny Jackson Struggles Through July and August, Looks To Wrap Up Strong
Press Releaseround of unfortunate luck in the last few races in the ARCA Lincoln
Welders Truck Series in 2009. After a fast start, Jackson has run
into some bumps along the way.
After finishing 5th at Sauble Beach in Canada due to a flat tire with
two laps to go, Jackson headed to Iowa Speedway on July 4th seeking a
good finish. What he found was an engine problem. Jackson started
with issues in practice and continued into the race. Jackson was
unable to complete a lap and finished 20th.
Jackson followed up Iowa at one of his favorite tracks in Winchester
Speedway. Jackson practiced well and set a new track record during
qualifying. During the race, after only 12 laps, Jackson pulled off
with mechanical issues and finished 18th.
Jackson decided to skip the Peterborough race in Canada, however the
race was rained out and rescheduled for August 22nd. Jackson decided
to enter the race. After qualifying in the first position, the skies
opened up and the rains washed away the race. Only 12 laps were
posted before officials pulled out the red flag.
After the weather outcome at Peterborough, Jackson tried his luck at
Lake Erie Speedway, a track he has been at before. Jackson once again
qualified in the 1st position and this time got to race. After
starting in the 5th position, Jackson worked his way up to 3rd where
he would finish the race. The truck was too tight and Jackson battled
it all night.
“It has been a tough month or so for us. It seems to be one thing
after another. We had a good run going, but things just happened.
Some things you can?t control and it is disappointing. But we will
head into the final race and finish strong. I am familiar with the
last track on the schedule and it should be fun. Hopefully we can get
this Bagman Chassis/R & B Fabrication/Harts Machine Service/Redbank
Transport/Lykins Companies Chevrolet into the Victory Lane one last
time,” Jackson said.
Jackson currently sits in the 2nd position in points and is 265 points
behind Paul Hahn. The series ends the season at Salem Speedway on
September 19th.
