“KBIII Has a Strong Run in the No.1 Ford”

Salem, IN (September 21, 2009) KBIII ran strong for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic in the No. 1 LoanMax car this past Saturday at Salem Speedway in Salem, Indiana. After qualifying 16th, the LoanMax team made adjustments to the car, therefore, KBIII had to start in the back of the field.

This did not slow down the Georgia native. He quickly made his way up towards the front half of the field. Near the end of the race he was running as fast as the leaders.

With only three cars on the lead lap, KBIII definitely had an incredible run at the half mile track.

After a routine pit stop, KBIII quickly notice something different about the car and the way it was driving. The pit crew had put the left side tires on the right side and the right side tires on the left making it difficult to drive properly. KBIII made a quick pit stop under a green flag to correct the mistake. The LoanMax car would get a few laps down as a result.

After the correction, KBIII was running times as fast as the leaders, but with a few laps down on a short track it was difficult to make up the lost time.

KBIII would end up bringing the No. LoanMax Ford across the finish line in the tenth place position. This finish marks as the first top ten for the LoanMax sponsor.

“I am really proud of the LoanMax team,” said KBIII. “We overcame a pit stop mistake and were able to make the best of it. Once we made the tire correction we were definitely fast. If we hadn’t lost those laps, we would have been able to run up front with those guys. I happy with our finish and I am excited to have gotten LoanMax at top ten finish in ARCA.”

The race at Salem Speedway is the last ARCA RE/MAX race KBIII will appear in for the 2009 season. He will continue to race in the NASCAR Nationwide Series while younger brother Brett will finish out the 2009 ARCA season in the last two races.

The next stop for the ARCA RE/MAX Series is the Kansas Lottery 150 at Kansas Speedway on October 1st. KBIII’s brother and USAR Pro Cup driver Brett will take his place in the No.1 LoanMax Ford for this race.
