WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE CAMPING WORLD 300 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES RACE AT DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2009.

·         Jason Keller led once for three laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s Camping World 300.  Keller was one of three Nationwide Series regulars to lead today’s race.

·         Keller scored a ninth-place finish, his 111^th top-10 in 325 career NASCAR Nationwide Series starts.  Keller was the top Nationwide Series regular in the race and claimed his first top-10 since he placed third at Gateway (Madison, Ill.) International Raceway in 2008 (race No. 21), a span of 16 races.

·         KELLER QUOTES:  “It was a magical day.  You dream about coming down here and winning races and running good but you know realistically it’s David against Goliath and today we raced with those guys.  I knew our race team was much better than we had last year.  We’ve got to really go in there and show what we can do the next couple of weeks but this is a boost.  They see that their hard work pays off.  I can’t how much we needed this and I can’t say how much I needed it so it’s a good day..”  AS YOU WORKED YOUR WAY TO THE FRONT NEAR THE END OF THE RACE DID YOU THINK THIS MIGHT BE AN EVEN BIGGER DAY?  “It did cross my mind and that’s the first time that actually a win has crossed my mind late in the race in a couple of years, so that’s good thoughts.  I know it was going to be a long shot.  I was going to have to put myself in the right position but you have to put yourself in position and that’s what did.  Todd [Gordon, crew chief] made a phenomenal call with his pit stops, his pit strategy.  The car was good too.  You just don’t made good pit strategy.  You build good race cars and you build fast race cars.  Ernie Elliott engines, I can’t say enough about those guys.  It was just a really good day.”  HOW SPECIAL IS IT TO LEAD HERE AT DAYTONA?  “I tell you what I didn’t even know where the restart point was [smiles].  I felt like a rookie again which is good.  I don’t know that you’ll be able to wipe this smile off my face.  It was fun.”
