WARSAW, Ind. - After scoring a top-20 finish in the season opener at high-banked, 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway, ML Motorsports returns to the short-track scene this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The Warsaw, Indiana-based team, with driver Mark Green behind the wheel, is entered in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Scots Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Green, coming off an 18th-place finish at Daytona while driving the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet owned by Mary Louise Miller and Stephany Mullen, competed in both Nationwide Series races at Bristol last season.
The Owensboro, Kentucky native started 43rd as qualifying was rained out and finished 24th in the rain-shortened spring race at Thunder Valley last season, and then qualified 32nd and finished 24th in the fall race at Bristol.
In six short-track races during the 2008 season, Green posted an average finish of 21st and completed better than 95 percent of the total laps on the short tracks.
Saturday’s race is scheduled to air live on ABC at 2:30 p.m.
Following this weekend’s event at Bristol, the next four events ML Motorsports is entered in will be at Texas, Nashville, Talladega and Richmond.
