- Newcomer Peyton Sellers and the #77 SFP qualified 23rd in the field of 49 trying to make the race.

- Sellers was one of 16 drivers who had to qualify based on time.

- Speed was 183.187 mph.

- He is the highest ranked driver among those entering the race with no existing series points.

- Sellers had to use his backup car to qualify after hitting the wall exiting turn 1 during the second practice when a prior adjustment and right front shock issue caused the car to bottom out.

- He was 10th fastest in that second practice, just behind Kyle Busch who was 8th fastest and now sits on the pole for Saturday’s race.

- Texas marks Sellers’ Nationwide series debut.
