Carl Edwards captured the CarQuest Auto Part 300 pole at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with a qualifying lap speed of 183.175 m.p.h. Edwards will share the front row with Kyle Busch, who ran a speed of 182.945 m.p.h., while Edwards’ Roush Fenway Racing teammate’s Greg Biffle (182.482) and David Ragan (182.272) will start third and fourth respectfully.

Rounding out the top-10 starters: Brian Vickers (182.020) fifth, Raybestos Rookie contender Michael McDowell (181.318) sixth, David Gilliland (181.311) seventh, Kevin Harvick (181.159) eighth, Jeff Burton (180.929) ninth and Mike Bliss (180.886) tenth.
