MONROE, N.C. (Wednesday, June 17, 2009) - If you ask Kenny Wallace, he’ll say that he gets the most excited to race on two tracks. One of them is obviously Gateway, as the track sits right outside his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.

The other track which Wallace gets excited about? The Milwaukee Mile, which is the site of this Saturday night’s Nationwide Series race.

“Anytime I can go to Milwaukee or St. Louis, these are the tracks I started on,” Wallace said. “These are the tracks I cut my teeth on, so it’s real exciting to go to Milwaukee with our Border Patrol team.”

Wallace has had success at the flat, one-mile oval, with four top-10 results in ten career Nationwide appearances at the track. In last year’s event, Wallace also had a milestone race in his No. 28 U.S. Border Patrol Chevy: his 400th Nationwide Series start in 2008.

Because he raced at the track early in his career, Wallace said it was special to celebrate the landmark race in Milwaukee.

“It was one of the very first tracks I raced on,” he recalled. “There’s a lot of history there at the track too, so I look forward to those types of races.”

There’s also another reason why Wallace is anticipating this weekend’s event. His No. 28 has been fast all year long, and he can’t wait to take to the track as Team Border Patrol aims for another top-15 result.

“I’m really excited about Milwaukee, and I know we’ll be good there,” Wallace said. “We’re looking forward, and not looking backward.”

Wallace, Team U.S. Border Patrol, and the rest of the Nationwide Series will take to the Milwaukee Mile for Saturday night’s Northerntool.com 250 starting at 7:30 p.m. (EDT), with live coverage on ESPN2.
