Double-file restarts for the leaders, a two-week old procedure for Sprint Cup, probably will become practice in the Nationwide Series within the next month.

“We’re just taking our time,” series director Joe Balash said. “We don’t see any red flags with what we’ve seen in the Cup Series, and we think it’s something we can implement with everything we have here and provide a little more excitement for the fans.”

NASCAR’s policy was to have lead-lap cars in one lane for a restart and lapped cars in the other. Now the leader of the race has the option to start at the front of the inside or outside line, and the other drivers on the lead lap follow in order.
