Chris Lawson ORP Preview
Press Release(Mooresville, N.C. 7/22/09) – This weekend Chris Lawson will skip his usual routine of racing at Tri County Speedway and Hickory Speedway for the ,686 mile paved oval of O’Reilly Raceway Park. Lawson will once again try his hand at the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Two seasons Chris attempted to make the Nationwide Series race at Memphis Motorsports Park but fell short in qualifying.
“I have been to ORP before in a late model and I feel that experience will help my chances this weekend,” commented Lawson.
Chris is very grateful to have the chance to compete in Saturday’s race, he has been competing in North Carolina at Hickory Motor Speedway and at Tri-county Speedway. Chris has been extremely competitive lately but is yet to capture his first win.
“I have been doing really well this season but this is a welcomed break from my regular routine,” said Lawson. “I really have to thank Jimmy Means for this opportunity, it truly is a dream come true for this small town Ohio boy,” added Lawson.
This weekend Chris will pilot the number 52, Chevrolet owned by Jimmy Means.
Tracksidemotorsport.com will sponsor the car this week. This is the only event planned for Lawson as of now but hopes are more will follow.
This weekend’s race coverage begins Saturday with practice at 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Final practice is at 11:15 am -12:30 p.m. Qualifying begins at 5:05 p.m. and the green flag drops at 8:00 p.m. All coverage is live on ESPN. Radio coverage of the race will be located on your local MRN carrier.
