· Testing, Testing 1-2-3…
Jason Leffler was one of four drivers to participate in a Goodyear tire test at Iowa Speedway in May.
JASON LEFFLER ON THE GOODYEAR TIRE TEST AT IOWA SPEEDWAY“I’m happy that we were able to participate in the Goodyear test in May and get a good feel for the track. It went really well. You can’t really compare this track to anywhere else we go throughout the year. I had thought it would be a lot like Richmond but it’s a lot bigger than I thought and has a different surface. With only four cars on the track there was only about a lane and a half of a groove but once we have 43 cars out there this weekend it’s going to get a nice second groove built in. The racing should be pretty exciting.”
CREW CHIEF, SCOTT ZIAPDELLI, ON IOWA SPEEDWAY
“If I had to compare this track to another I would say it’s like a smaller version of Kentucky Speedway. Turns one and two are pretty bumpy so that is one thing that everyone is going to have to deal with. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. This is one of the only places where everyone has an equal shot. Nobody has previous notes to go by and not a lot of the drivers have raced here before. There is $75,000 up for grabs with this being a Dash-for-Cash race and I’d say it’s up for anyone to take.”
