Braun Racing Announces Justin Marks To Drive The No. 10 Toyota Camry In Selected NASCAR Nationwide Series Events
Press ReleaseNo stranger to road course success, Marks is driving full-time this season in the Grand-am Rolex Sports Car Series GT class for The Racers Group (TRG) and was a member of the winning team in this year’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. He and TRG teammate, Andy Lally, have clinched three top-five and five top-10 finishes this season in the No. 67 Porsche GT.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to race for Braun Racing again this year,” said Marks. “Road racing is what I have excelled at for most of career so going to Watkins Glen and back to Montreal in the No. 10 Toyota Camry is going to be a real highlight for me this year. On the other hand, NASCAR is primarily an oval racing sport and a craft I have spent the last several years learning. To be able to go to Memphis and Homestead with a first-rate team like Braun Racing is big opportunity for me. They put fast cars on the track every week so I know it’ll be up to me to make the most of it.”
With proven success on road courses, Marks has focused on developing his oval-racing experience in recent years. He cut his teeth in the ARCA RE/MAX Series driving 38 races from 2005-2009, recording five top-five and 12 top-10 finishes, as well as two poles. He is scheduled to drive this year’s ARCA events at Pocono Raceway and Kansas Speedway for Venturini Motorsports. Marks made his NASCAR debut in the Camping World Truck Series in 2007 and ran a partial schedule last year, claiming the pole at Texas Motor Speedway. He made his Nationwide Series debut last season at Montreal driving the No. 10 entry for Braun Racing.
“We are very happy to have Justin join our lineup of talented drivers this season,” said Braun Racing owner, Todd Braun. “He is a talented young driver and we look forward to utilizing his road course experience to our advantage for all of our teams as well as helping him continue to grow on the oval tracks.”
