Advertisment

NASCAR is pretty big and I know several people that will sit and watch an entire race without stopping. I have seen a few NASCAR races and I like motorsports, but I can’t really get that into NASCAR myself.

Still, the races draw huge crowds at the venues where they are held and big crowds mean that there is a big demand for mobile phone services. To meet the demand at the Michigan International Speedway Verizon is bringing in a mobile cellular tower.

The mobile cell tower is called a Cell on Light Truck (COLT) and can boost the calling capacity of the network around the track. Verizon is also upgrading equipment in the cell towers around the track. It says that between the COLT and the upgrades it has improved voice capacity by 600% and data capacity by 1000%.
