Scott Lagasse Jr. won a race Sunday at Daytona International Speedway.

While the St. Augustine driver enjoyed his trip to Victory Lane, it didn’t ease his disappointment about being removed from the No. 11 Toyota in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Lagasse, a NASCAR rookie, was 12th in points when CJM Racing decided to put Denny Hamlin in the car for Saturday’s race at Watkins Glen International. Hamlin also will drive in this Saturday’s race at Michigan.

Lagasse will continue to look for a new ride.

“It’s really disappointing and very frustrating,” Lagasse said. “I understand this is a performance-based business, but we were really getting on track with our program.”
