Bristol, Tenn. (August 23, 2009) – Rookie Michael Annett earned the
Raybestos Rookie of the Race award for the second time this season,
claiming an eighth place finish at Bristol Motor Speedway in the
Nationwide Series Food City 250. Annett’s eighth place finish was his
third top-10 of the 2009 Nationwide Series season.

Battling adversity with a broken track bar mount and a motor issue in
practice on Friday, the No. 15 Germain Racing team gave 200 percent and
kept a very positive attitude throughout the entire day to get the No. 15
Pilot Travel Centers Toyota Camry a top-10 finish.

“Our eighth place finish is a testament to these guys on our No. 15
team. I don’t think they sat down once during the day. We broke a track
bar mount early in practice and blew the motor up at the end of it. They
just kept digging the whole day, and that’s exactly what a driver hopes
for in his crew. These Germain Racing guys are the best,” said Annett.

Due to the engine change during practice, Annett was forced to move to the
back of the pack at the drop of the green flag after qualifying 13th.

“It was tough starting at the back of the pack, but we had the car we
needed to move on up to the front,” said Annett, “We needed long runs
and we got a couple of them which helped us a lot on track position.”

Crew Chief Mike Hillman Sr. noted, “Michael did a heck of a job. I think
the progression has been great all day and we’re really looking forward
to the rest of the season. Week in and week out we improve, and tonight we
got paid back for it.”

Annett brought home his eighth place finish in the state home to Pilot
Travel Centers, primary sponsor of the No. 15. With a large group of Pilot
Travel Centers associates from Pilot’s headquarters in nearby Knoxville,
Tennessee there to support him, Annett was excited to give them a great
finish.

“Bristol is the home track for Pilot Travel Centers, and there was a
large group of folks from Pilot at the track. It’s great to have a good
showing in front of the people that allow you to go to the racetrack each
weekend,” said Annett, “I’m really proud about this run at Bristol
because we really didn’t fall into it, we worked for it. We dug for this
one and earned this eighth place finish.”

The No. 15 team will cross the border into Canada next week for the second
Nationwide Series road course race of the 2009 season. The No. 15 will
race at Montreal, Canada’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The NAPA Auto
Parts 200 presented by Dodge at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve will kick of on
Sunday, August 30 at 2 p.m.
