- Eric McClure qualified in the 39th position and finished 25th in front of his hometown crowd. This finish kept McClure in the 28th position in NASCAR owner standings.

McClure Tries His Hand Again at Road Course Racing: This Time in Canada

- This weekend marks the second time the 30-year-old driver will compete on a road course, but his first on the Circuit Gilles Villenueve course making him a “rookie” for the second and final time this season.

- Although the No. 24 Ford will be painted black, it will carry the logos of the Hefty® brand.

- McClure will pilot chassis # 46 this weekend; it was last used at Watkins Glen where it scored a 30th-place finish.

- The Virginia diver will be competing in his 98th career Nationwide Series start and of the 24 starts in the 2009 season; McClure has an average start of 33rd and finish of 26.6th.

“I am really looking forward to this weekend. I hear this track in Montreal is a lot more technical than Watkins Glen so I’m sure I will be spending the practice sessions trying to learn the track, determine the best braking points, and obviously stay on course. Our sponsorship didn’t call for the two road races this season but with attempts and points being so critical, we knew we had to attempt. We had a sponsor come on board for ‘the Glen’ but this weekend we are showing our appreciation to Hefty® brand, who has been partnered with me since 2006. I know this weekend will be a work in progress, but I’ll be better at the end of the weekend than the start. I will have fun competing, though.”
