PERSONAL BEST FOR LEFFLER AS HE REACHES 18 TOP-10’S IN SINGLE SEASON…
With his sixth-place finish last weekend at Dover, Leffler reached a personal best of 18 top-10 finishes in a single season. In 2004, Leffler completed his year with 17 top-10’s.
LOOKING TO ADD ANOTHER KANSAS POLE AWARD TO HIS COLLECTION…
Leffler made history in 2001 when he captured the pole in Kansas Speedway’s inaugural Sprint Cup Series event. Additionally, he has claim to a Truck Series pole at Kansas from 2002. This weekend he will go for the sweep as he looks to add a Nationwide Series pole award to his collection. Always a strong qualifier at Kansas, he has started sixth or better in a combined total of nine career starts between each of NASCAR’s top-three series.
LEFFLER NATIONWIDE SERIES HIGHLIGHTS AT KANSAS…
Statistically speaking, Kansas Speedway is not one of Leffler’s strongest tracks. What the stats do not show is that Leffler has had some high points at the 1.5-mile track. In 2005, Leffler started from the fifth spot and spent much of the day in the top-five before a mechanical failure ended his chances to contend for the win. His best NNS performance at Kansas came one year ago when he captured an eighth-place finish after starting 23rd.
LEFFLER ON KANSAS SPEEDWAY“Kansas is a lot of fun because it has multiple grooves that allows for a lot of passing and three wide racing. I have always qualified pretty well there and had some strong runs but just haven’t had the finishes to show for it. We are looking to change that this weekend. I got the very first Cup Bud pole at Kansas back in 2001 and I also have a Truck pole there. I’d really like to go for the sweep and grab the Nationwide Series pole this weekend. Our intermediate program has been really strong this year that I think we have a very good shot at being a contender for the win!”
