ARCA RE/MAX Series driver, Parker Kligerman (currently second in ARCA points) recorded his first NASCAR Nationwide Series Coors Light Pole Award, as he ran a qualifying lap speed of 172.778 mph, in Saturday morning’s Kansas Lottery 300 qualifying session at Kansas Speedway.

This was the first time that Kligerman attempted to qualify for a NNS race, which made him the tenth driver since Scott Speed (Las Vegas ’09) to win a pole in their first series start.

Sharing the front row with Kligerman, and with a speed of 172.485 mph, is Kyle Busch, and they will be followed by Greg Biffle (172.474) starting third, Brian Vickers (172.287) fourth, Carl Edwards (172.227) fifth, David Gilliland (172.029) sixth, Joey Logano (171.767) seventh, Brian Scott (171.336) eighth, Raybestos Rookie contender Michael Annett (171.287) ninth and Jason Leffler 171.244) rounds out the top-10 starting positions.

Failing to qualify for the race were the #96 of Michael McDowell; #52 Kevin Hamlin; #92 Willie Allen; #73 Derrike Cope; #79 Jennifer Jo Cobb; #89 Morgan Shepherd; #58 Chris Horn and the #02 of Andy Ponstein.
