STAND-ALONE STANDOUT – The NASCAR Nationwide Series has nine stand-alone events, the last of the season coming this weekend at Memphis. KESELOWSKI (on why he performs so well at stand-alone races) – “I don’t quite know exactly why it is that I have such a good record at these stand-alone races. I know there are a lot fewer Cup guys that come over to race in the stand-alone events because they are off-site from the Cup races or on a Cup off-weekend. The tracks suit my driving style. Iowa, ORP (O’Reilly Raceway Park), Memphis and Gateway are all a little shorter, and I love short track racing. It’s what I grew up doing. It’s also fun going into the weekend knowing the fans are there just for the Nationwide race and they’ve come to see us Nationwide guys put on a show.”
KESELOWSKI (on having a new teammate this weekend) – “I’m excited to be teamed up with Boswell this weekend. I remember what it was like to be given the opportunity to get in one of these cars when I came over to JR Motorsports in 2007. Boswell has been racing late models for quite a while now, and he is very deserving of the chance he is getting at Memphis. He has done really well on tracks similar to this. I’m anxious to see how he does in his Nationwide Series debut.”
