Post-Qualifying Notes & Quotes
Texas Motor Speedway – November 6, 2009
JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun RacingStarting Position: 3rd
How was your car in qualifying?
“It was good, it was wide open. The Arrington engine, Toyota engine made a lot of power and it ran really good and it showed
here. The car is good and stable in race trim so I’m looking forward to the race tomorrow.”
How has your season been for your team?
“It’s been a huge improvement since last season. We’re all proud of that. I think we ran so well early on in the Spring that we
expected to win a race by now and then through the summer we had some harder times. The thing is to finish the year off like
we ran in Memphis. We ran third, we qualified well here tonight and we have a good race car. If we can do that, we can build
over the winter for next year and win some races.”
KASEY KAHNE, No. 10 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Starting Position: 4th
KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 Z-Line Design Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 6th
BRIAN VICKERS, No. 32 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Braun RacingStarting Position:
9thHow’s your Camry so far this weekend?
“It was loose. The package we’re running is going to be good for the race but it’s definitely not very conducive to these
conditions. The track’s really fast, the loads pick up and you’re trying to run around here wide open. I think we’ll be good in
the race. Qualifying during the day definitely would have been better for us, but it’s still a decent run.”
Can you recap your season with Braun Racing?
“It’s been a great season. I had a lot of fun. A little frustrated we haven’t won a race this year with Braun, we’ve come so close
so many times and led a lot of times. Ultimately it’s the trophy we’re after so hopefully we can solve that problem tomorrow.”
Starting Position:
10thHow was your qualifying run?
“I guess it was alright. I expected a little more speed, but it was a little bit free. The track has a lot more grip and we gained a
lot more front grip than I thought — and I thought it would be a little bit tighter. It was good. It drove the same all the way
around. We’ve got a good race car for the race.”
Did you have any problem with the wind?
“It slowed down since we started (qualifying). It was blowing pretty hard when we started, but I don’t think it’s as bad right
now.”
TREVOR BAYNE, No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Starting Position: 11th
How did your car handle during qualifying?
“I don’t know how we can get much more speed out of it. I was close to flat-footing it all the way around. I guess it’s just the
movement of the car. It was moving around. I guess I scrubbed some speed off. I expected a little better than that. We can’t
complain about it much. Hopefully, the changes we made will be better in race trim — you sacrifice some qualifying with that.
It’s not bad and we’ll see where it takes us here.”
JOEY LOGANO, No. 20 GameStop Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing
Starting Position: 21st
MICHAEL ANNETT, No. 15 Germain Racing Toyota Camry, Germain Racing
Starting Position: 26th
CHASE MILLER, No. 47 Toyota Camry, JTG Daugherty Racing
