Denny Hamlin, with a qualifying lap speed of 133.968 mph, set a new track record in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Phoenix International Raceway, and captured his 14th series career Coors Light Pole Award for the Able Body Labor 200 (scheduled for later this afternoon at 4:30 pm EST).

This was Hamlin’s second series pole of the 2009 season, and his second series pole at Phoenix International Raceway.

Sharing the front row with Hamlin, and with a lap speed of 133.319 mph, will be Carl Edwards, and they will be followed by last night’s NCWTS race winner, Kevin Harvick (132.719) who will start third, Kyle Busch (132.690) fourth, Clint Bowyer (132.616) fifth, Jason Leffler (132.509) sixth, Paul Menard (132.426) seventh, Mike Bliss (132.091) eighth, David Ragan (132.076) ninth and Reed Sorenson (131.994) will round out the top-10 starting positions.

Failing to make the race were the #52 of Chris Lawson; #05 of Blake Koch; #89 of Morgan Shepherd and the #31 of Daryl Harr.
