Press Release
Advertisment

The Key Motorsports NASCAR Nationwide Series team with driver Scott Wimmer heads to the Homestead-Miami Speedway for the season ending Ford 300 this Saturday, November 21, 2009, looking to continue a recent string of consistent finishes.

Wimmer, who finished sixth in last years Ford 300, has driven the #40 Key Motorsports Chevrolet to three consecutive top 15 finishes in the past three races. The Key Motorsports team began the streak at Memphis on October 24, qualifying on the outside front row and posting a seventh place finish in the Kroger On Track For The Cure 250. Wimmer and the Key Motorsports team rallied at Texas and Phoenix the past two weeks, coming from 24th to 14th at Texas and claiming 15th at Phoenix after starting 31st.

“We have been consistent the last few weeks,” Scott Wimmer said. “The whole Key Motorsports organization is behind this effort and we are hoping to continue our streak at Homestead this weekend.” Wimmer finished sixth at Homestead in last years Ford 300.

Key Motorsports crew chief Gary Showalter says the team will be using chassis number 006 at Homestead, the same car competed with at Texas two weeks ago.

“It ran good at Texas and Scott seemed to like it pretty well,” Showalter said. “It has a good motor and we expect to run well with it at Homestead.”

Key Motorsports is currently 21st in NASCAR Nationwide Series owner points.
