Carl Edwards captured his 18th career NASCAR Nationwide Series Coors Light Pole Award during the FORD 300 qualifying session at Homestead-Miami Speedway (his first series career pole at the track) as he ran a qualifying lap speed of 168.366 mph.

With his seventh NNS pole of the season (which is also his all-time highest number of poles in one season) Edwards will share the front row with Ryan Newman, who ran a speed of 167.978 mph, for the second fastest lap. They will be followed by Jeff Burton (167.910) who will start third, Joey Logano (167.879) fourth, Kyle Busch (167.785) fifth, Denny Hamlin (167.457) sixth, Matt Kenseth (167.317) seventh, Brad Keselowski (167.240) eighth, Scott Speed (167.022) ninth and Brendan Gaughan (166.723) will round out the top-10 starting positions.

Failing to make the race were the #0 of Jeremy Clements; #58 Chase Austin; #83 John Borneman III; #22 Parker Kligerman; #89 Morgan Shepherd; #39 Eddie MacDonald; #84 Jennifer Jo Cobb; #96 Brian Keselowski and the #72 of Benny Gordon.

The start of the FORD 300, and the final race of the season, is scheduled for later this afternoon at 4:30 PM (EST).
