Evernham’s East Lincoln Speedway Open to Full House, Full Field of Action
Press ReleaseSTANLEY, NC (April 6, 2009) — A record crowd packed East Lincoln Speedway Saturday night for the grand opening of the newly revamped 3/8 mile clay oval.
Under the new ownership of veteran NASCAR crew chief and team owner Ray Evernham along with his business partner Bob Mack, a capacity crowd flooded the facility to see the many upgrades and improvements made to the 20-year-old speedway.
The vocal crowd cheered on local driver Adam Yarbourgh as the Denver, NC resident held off all challenges to post the Limited Sportsman victory. Blaine Huffman, Billy Bishop, Jeffrey Mundwiler and Chris Smith rounded out the top five.
In the very popular Open Wheel Modified division Lincolnton, NC’s Matt Emmerling collected the top prize. Jamie Kuntz led early but a tangle with a lapped car forced him to the rear. Ryan Ayers was second with Nick Hoffman third, Ken Crissman fourth and Danny Bohn fifth.
Robert Clements took home the victory in the Mini Sprint feature. Brian Roseman, Jason Brown, Justin Lineman and Terry Peters rounded out the top five.
Luther Bishop captured the winning honors in the Renegade feature event. Second through fifth went to Chris Allison, Michael Bennett, Anthony Tucker and Matt Arrowood.
Brad Williams motored to the win over a large Stock Four field. Jamie Major, Gary Fioramanti, Brian Nuhfer and Joshua Cook followed.
In the Rookie Four feature it was Wayne Curtis leading Silas Reylonds, Roger Cook, Grandell Cass and A.J. Paladino.
East Lincoln Speedway will be back in action this Saturday night April 11 with a full racing program. East Lincoln Speedway is located at 1873 Mariposa Rd in Stanley, NC.
