Goodyear, FASTRAK Series part ways
Press ReleaseAKRON, Ohio (Nov. 4, 2009) – The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company said today that the company was unable to agree to terms on a contract extension as the exclusive tire supplier for the FASTRAK Championship Racing Series. The existing contract expires at the end of 2009 and Goodyear will not pursue a new agreement with FASTRAK.
“We have worked closely with FASTRAK over the past several years and FASTRAK has worked very hard in the dirt crate late model arena,” said Scott Junod, Sales Account Manager for Goodyear Short Track Racing. “We wish all the great folks at FASTRAK the very best in the future.”
Goodyear Racing has recently announced agreements making the tiremaker the exclusive tire supplier for the National Dirt Racing Association’s late model program as well as the rear tire supplier for the World of Outlaws sprint car series.
“Our dirt track programs have been growing in popularity,” said Justin Fantozzi, Marketing Manager Global Race Tires. “FASTRAK has been a part of that effort in recent years but we were unable to continue that relationship. We will continue to expand our dirt racing programs all over the US, Canada, and abroad.”
