Indianapolis, Ind. (July 31, 2009) – The 2010 IndyCar Series schedule presents a good balance and will open some doors to the league, teams and fans, according to HVM Racing Team Principal and Owner Keith Wiggins. The Indy Racing League announced the schedule Friday, introducing new races in Brazil and Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama, and confirming speculation that Richmond International Raceway will not be on the circuit.

Comments from HVM Racing Team Principal and Owner Keith Wiggins on the 2010 IndyCar Series schedule:

“Having Brazil on the calendar is a great asset for the series and a good marketing opportunity for the teams and certain drivers, and it provides good diversification into a new market.

“Also, I’m always in favor of a balanced calendar between road courses and ovals, a feeling that I think is shared by the fans of open-wheel racing, and therefore I welcome the addition of Barber, too.”

HVM is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. In its eight years of competition, the team has earned six wins, two pole positions, and an additional 16 podiums since 2001. The team finished fourth and third, respectively, in the Champ Car championship standings in 2006 and 2007, and earned its drivers Mario Dominguez and Robert Doornbos Rookie of the Year honors in 2002 and 2007, respectively. In 2008 with driver E.J. Viso, the team earned seven top-10 finishes, including a fourth at St. Petersburg in its inaugural year in the IRL Championship.
