Edwards racing despite Frisbee injury
Caught in the Catchfence™Apparently nothing slows down Carl Edwards, not even broken bones. Edwards fractured his right foot playing Frisbee with a buddy in his hometown of Columbia, Mo., on Wednesday, but he still plans to race in both the Nationwide and Sprint Cup series events at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend.
“I know this probably sounds ridiculous to a lot of people, and I could hardly believe it myself,” Edwards said. “I was playing Frisbee with a couple of buddies, and we both went for the Frisbee at the same time. I put my foot on it. My friend dove for it, and the next thing you know, we all heard a pop.”
Edwards, who is currently on crutches, has been cleared by doctors at the University of Missouri hospital to race this weekend. He will have to wear a supportive boot in the race car. - Full Story by Amanda Vincent – Louisville NASCAR Examiner
