“Increased Exposure Will Be Good for Current and Future HVM Partners”

Indianapolis, Ind. (November 5, 2009) – The announcement of IZOD’s title sponsorship of the IndyCar Series not only creates a big boost for the Indy Racing League but will also spark new opportunities for series participants like HVM Racing.

The clothing company’s high-level sponsorship will expose the series and its teams to a whole new audience. Increased exposure, especially to demographics that previously might not have watched IndyCar racing, means increased value for team sponsors.

“A partner like IZOD definitely broadens the reach of the sport, creating a lot of excitement,” said Keith Wiggins, HVM Racing team principal and owner. “As a team owner, that’s important because we’re talking to a lot of potential sponsors about our team and the league. We know IZOD will work hard at promoting IndyCar. They obviously recognize the value in the brand or they would not have expanded their involvement to the top level. And they won’t just be promoting the IndyCar Series – they will also essentially be promoting HVM Racing.”

Wiggins believes organizations that have not yet been involved in the sport might now take advantage of the opportunity.

“With IZOD’s reach and marketing and activation capabilities, the value of a team sponsorship will be so much more than what it has been,” Wiggins said. “The opportunities are pretty exciting.”

The Indy Racing League announced the multi-year, multi-million-dollar title sponsorship program on Thursday. It’s the first title sponsor of the series since 2001.

HVM is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. In its nine years of competition, the team has earned six wins, two pole positions, and an additional 16 podiums. The team finished fourth and third, respectively, in the Champ Car championship standings in 2006 and 2007, and earned drivers Mario Dominguez and Robert Doornbos Rookie of the Year honors in 2002 and 2007, respectively. Since joining the IRL Championship in 2008, the team has earned nine top-10 finishes with drivers E.J. Viso and Robert Doornbos.
