Team Chevy, 2009 Food City 500 NSCS Race Notes & Quotes
Press ReleaseTEAM CHEVY IMPALA SS INSIDE THE GARAGE AT BRISTOL MOTOR SPEEDWAY – ALBA COLON, GM RACING NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES PROGRAM MANAGER: “”Our Chevy teams always look forward to racing at Bristol. Over the years, Chevrolet has had great success there, winning 41 of the 96 races that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has run on the high-banked half-mile track. In fact, our Impala SS race car scored its first-ever win at Bristol when we debuted the car in 2007.
“The track is a huge favorite of the fans. They get to see the roots of NASCAR racing with the fast and furious action on a short track. The seats are so close to the track and pit road, they get a great view of the precision and the accuracy teams and drivers have to execute a perfect pit stop and maintain all-important track position.
“We are excited about how well the 2009 season has started for Team Chevy. The hard work of our Chevy teams in conjunction with our GM Racing team of engineers has translated to success on the track. We have been competitive and contended for the win each race.
“We are looking forward to an exciting race at Bristol and another exciting finish. Our Impala SS drivers are poised to capture a win and we feel good about our chances at Bristol.”
