WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE GOODY’S FAST PAIN RELIEF 500 NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES RACE AT MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY, MARCH 29, 2009, PAGE 1.

· Denny Hamlin led four times for 296 laps to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s Goody’s Fast Pain Relief 500. Hamlin claimed the honor for the first time this season.

· Hamlin has led 303 laps in two races this season.

· Hamlin has led 1,265 laps in 21-career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series short track races.

· Hamlin scored a second-place finish in today’s race, his second top-five and third top-10 finish of the season. He finished .774 seconds behind race winner Jimmie Johnson.

· UNOFFICIALLY Hamlin is fifth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship standings, 148 points behind leader Jeff Gordon. He trails fourth-place Jimmie Johnson by six points and leads sixth-place Kyle Busch by 11.

· HAMLIN QUOTES: “Jimmie [Johnson] has always been really fair to me. We’ve raced really well together. We’ve raced like this a lot on short tracks. We’ve been around each other a bunch. Yeah, I mean, his credibility is 50 percent of why it’s easy to take because, you know, I know he’s the competitor he is and he’s a clean driver. I think actually when he did get me up the track that he slowed down to try to let me somewhat get my stuff back together, but unfortunately I was up in the trash so much that I couldn’t do anything.”
