RAYBESTOS® ROOKIE CONTENDER QUOTES FOR THE GOODY’S FAST PAIN RELIEF 500 NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES RACE AT MARTINSVILLE SPEEDWAY, MARCH 29, 2009, PAGE 1.

JOEY LOGANO IN THE No. 20 THE HOME DEPOT TOYOTA WAS THE TOP RAYBESTOS ROOKIE IN TODAY’S RACE.

NOTES:

* Logano captured Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the fourth time in six races this season. He was credited with a 32nd-place finish.

* Scott Speed led today’s race once for 12 laps, the first time he has led a lap in a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race this season. Speed is the first Raybestos Rookie to lead a lap in the spring race at Martinsville since J.J. Yeley led once for one lap 2006.

LOGANO: A CUT TIRE EARLY IN THE RACE ON PUT YOU BEHIND. “Yeah I mean by the end of the race at least we were faster, you know, in top-10. You can’t overcome a flat tire and it took us a few laps to get where we needed to be. I felt like we were okay but it’s just like every other race. It’s hard to come back after what we lost in the beginning. I think looking back at it I had no practice, had no laps around this joint and pretty much our practicing laps was the beginning of the race. I mean, we kind of worked through some of the stuff we had issues with. It drove completely different than what it had in practice. It was nothing like what I thought I was going to have. We’ll keep working at it.”

THE RACE FINISHED UNDER CLOUDY AND COOL CONDITIONS. DID THE TRACK CHANGE? “I think everyone got faster. I mean, I think we picked up more just because we were getting better but I think everyone got pretty fast when it cooled down a little bit. It’s a tough racetrack but we kind of had it at the end.”

WHAT IS THE MAIN THING THAT YOU LEARNED TODAY THAT WILL HELP YOU HERE IN OCTOBER? “I learned some things on the racetrack about how to come off the corner, with the drive off, by the end of the race. That’s something that I’ll write down in my notes. There was a few other little things but that’s probably the biggest thing.”

SCOTT SPEED, No. 82 RED BULL TOYOTA: “I’m sure Kyle [Busch] is going to offer to buy me dinner [laughing] since that’s the second time this year that he’s wrecked me, so I’m looking forward to that. We had a great car before we got wrecked and we even had a great car after we got wrecked. This race is a lot like Daytona for us where we had a great car but were in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
