Pow Wow tourism reps from 70 countries invited for NASCAR, IndyCar rides in
advance of motorsports history this fall: Six Championships in Six Weeks

MIAMI—The global spotlight is on Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend, as the Pow Wow International Travel Convention—involving tourism delegates and media from 70-plus countries—descends upon THE Championship Track to enjoy two-seater rides in both an IndyCar and a NASCAR stock car.

Working in conjunction with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, the unique “Need for Speed” experience will put Homestead-Miami Speedway—host to the 2009 Championship finales of NASCAR, IndyCar and the Grand-Am Sports Car Series—on full display to an international audience.

The “Need for Speed” package provides international guests a first-hand glimpse of life at 165 mph on Homestead-Miami Speedway’s 18-20 degree variable-banked turns, and demand was so high that it was the first convention event to be booked full. The Pow Wow delegates and media members will be treated like champions at THE Championship Track, lunching in the exclusive Champions Club high above Turn 1 before sliding into the cockpit of an IndyCar two-seater and a NASCAR-style race car courtesy of the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

“We are very excited to provide the ‘Need for Speed’ experience to the official delegates and media members of the International Pow Wow,” said Laura Pequignot, HMS VP of Corporate Partnership and Business Development. “This is a great opportunity to showcase to international tourism leaders our world-class facility that will host Six Championships in 2009.”

Indeed, Homestead-Miami Speedway will make motorsports history this fall as it becomes the first venue ever to host all of North America’s premier racing championships: IndyCar and Grand-Am Sports Cars during the NextEra Energy Resources SpeedJam Championships (Oct. 9-10); and NASCAR’s series-crowning Ford Championship Weekend (Nov. 20-22). Tickets for all Six
Championships are on sale now via (866) 409-RACE or www.HomesteadMiamiSpeedway.com.

Pow Wow is the travel industry’s premier international marketplace and the largest generator of Visit USA travel—more than $3.5 billion in future visits to USA travel destinations. In just three days of intensive appointments, nearly 1500 international buyers from more than 70 countries—as well as more than 1000 U.S. travel organizations—conduct business that otherwise would be generated only through exhaustive around-the-world trips. Buyers and sellers negotiate pacts estimated to generate $4
billion in future travel to the United States, 10 percent of which ($400 million) traditionally is spent in the host city—in this case, Miami—within three years of hosting Pow Wow.

Pow Wow also provides the Speedway a unique opportunity to showcase the meeting space available year-round for rental, including the Champions Club, a new media center and the karting experience; for more information on facility rental, please contact HMS Corporate Sales at (305) 230-5000.
