On Saturday, May 16, two-time Daytona 500 winner and NASCAR® great Michael Waltrip helped Karen and Jim Saunders of Greenville, N.C., celebrate 25 years of marriage and ring in their silver anniversary by re-renewing the wedding vows of NASCARs “All-Star Couple.”

It was the Saunders’ devotion and love for both each other and the sport of NASCAR that helped the duo beat out hundreds of other die-hard NASCAR couples to receive this one-of-a-kind prize and title of “All-Star Couple.” In addition to having Waltrip, Karen Saunders’ all-time favorite driver, renew their wedding vows in front of dozens at Raceworld USA, the couple also won a trip to the 25th Running of the NASCAR® Sprint All-Star Race thanks to Best Western International, the official hotel of NASCAR®.

“This is an unbelievable and once-in-a-lifetime experience for us,” said Karen Saunders. “We’ve been to many races throughout our 25 years of marriage but we never thought we’d be having our vows renewed by a racing icon. Today is truly a special day we’ll remember forever!”

In addition to taking in all the race action in Charlotte, the Saunders also won a travel card valued at $1,000 that can be used at any of the 4,000 Best Western properties worldwide for a second honeymoon.
