Rick Hendrick on Oprah; Donates 10 2008 Chevy Impalas and $10,000 for The Good News Garage
By Marty TylerToday on Oprah, Oprah teamed up with People magazine to honor people who are making a difference in their communitiy. Hal Colston was honored for operating The Good News Garage in Burlington, Vermont which provides used, serviced and warrantied autos for people in need who pay a very, very small amount of money. NASCAR’s Rick Hendrick heard about the work Hal was doing and appeared on Oprah donating 10 2008 Chevy Impalas and $10,000 which will provide $1,000 for a year’s gas for each vehicle’s recipient. Rick was introduced as a Chevy car dealer…not as the major NASCAR team owner. Way to go Rick Hendrick! Read more about Good News Garage here
