Here’s the upshot in all this – Talladega is almost the only speedway in the world that doesn’t need two-abreast restarts. Talladega break its 25-year-old record for lead changes – they’ve been doing their darnedest to break that record for the last decade even with single-file restarts and have come pretty close to doing so.
This new change will definately make the racing better everywhere; it’s just that Talladega is so darned ferocious that it’s a little hard to imagine it being any better than it already is.
