Bruton Smith still determined to bring Cup to Kentucky

Through his Speedway Motorsports Inc., Bruton Smith purchased Kentucky Speedway last year, in hopes of bringing a Sprint Cup Series race to the Bluegrass State.

Kentucky didn’t make it onto the Sprint Cup schedule for 2009, and according to Smith, things aren’t looking good for 2010, either.

“We’ll probably not be able to get on the schedule or change the schedule for next year,” he said.

It’s a little late in the game to be adding or taking away tracks from next year’s schedule, according to NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France. - Full Story by Amanda Vincent – Louisville NASCAR Examiner.
